All students in First Year study the Core Subjects (above) and then select 2 Optional subjects to continue studying:
Students complete a Subject Options form with their parent(s)/guardian and choose their subjects in order of preference. Students often decide to pick a subject because their friend has chosen the same subject. We would prefer if students pick the subject that they believe they will enjoy and participate most effectively in.
*While every effort will be made to facilitate students in their choice of subject, your child's first preference cannot be guaranteed.
Short courses are certified courses that are completed over the 3 years of Junior Cycle. There is no exam in these subjects, students will be assessed instead through project work and participation over the course of the 3 years. Completion of these courses will appear on students Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement.
