Phenomenon-Based Learning at Gorey ETSS
This week we have embarked on a unique journey, using a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge. Students explore the impact of water pollution on a local, national, and global level.
Our students will research, plan, execute and reflect on a realistic action that will make a positive impact in the designated area. The uniqueness of PBL lies in the holistic development of the student as they explore an issue through different lenses, subjects, and possibilities for their chosen action.
Each year, Gorey ETSS explores one of the Sustainable Development Goals as a source for issues we should solve together as active and responsible citizens. This year’s SDG is 6: Clean water and Sanitation. Specifically, 6.3 Improving water quality.
We encourage every member of our school community to guide our students to take a realistic action that would create a positive change in our school, local community, nation or indeed on a global scale.
